Motivation

With the rapid rise of LLMs, we are now producing more code than ever, faster than ever. While the feats that are possible today are truly impressive, it raises an even more interesting problem: more software also means more vulnerabilities. Add to that the potential for AI agents themselves to become defensive or even malicious actors, and you have a fascinating landscape in an industry that's going to get ever more relevant. This is exactly the type of complex, multi-dimensional problem solving that drives me and that brought me to IT. This is why I decided that it's time for the next challenge and pursue a career in cybersecurity.

  • Carried out security assessment (threat modelling, SAST/DAST) and implemented new defensive measures in MedusaLink, documented the process in an article.
  • Hardened my VPS where this website and a few other services are hosted.
  • Completed the "Security Engineer" learning path on TryHackMe.
  • Actively improving security in my personal computing, staying up to date with news.
  • Followed secure coding practices at my development jobs.
  • Completed an Information Security course at university.

Goals

• Start a new job in an AppSec and/or DevSecOps type role.
• Complete the "AI Security", "DevSecOps" and "Defending AWS" paths on TryHackMe.
• Accomplish one or more formal cybersecurity certifications.
